About Kids In America

Kids In America is a six-piece 80s cover band built on years of live experience and a shared commitment to recreating the decade exactly as it sounded. Shannon Remley and Ray Hartsfield handle female and male lead vocals. Shannon’s powerhouse vocals and energy along with Ray’s charisma and showmanship make for the ultimate male-female lead vocal combo upfront. Roey Haviv plays bass guitar and bass synth, GK Via covers lead guitar and lead and background vocals, Rob Bowser on keyboards and synths, and Mike Graci handles drums and electronic percussion. This 6 piece very talented band plays everything live with no tracks, covering pop, hair metal, new wave, hip hop and dance with the kind of precision and accuracy that comes from over a thousand shows for just over a decade.

What You Will Hear

Expect the kind of night where you might hear “Don’t Stop Believin'” turn a room full of people into one voice, or where the synth intro to “Take On Me” lands before anyone has time to put their drink down. The set could pull from all corners of the decade — the arena-sized chorus of “Livin’ on a Prayer,” the dance-floor pulse of “Push It,” the guitar crunch of “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” or the new wave cool of “Just Like Heaven.” There’s room for “Thriller,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” and “White Wedding” in the same night. The catalog is wide and the band reads a room well.

About the Venue

The Creamery District occupies a restored historic creamery site at 875 E Ashby Pl in San Antonio. The property is a multi-concept social hub with cocktail lounges, a riverside plaza, rooftop garden, a late-night speakeasy called Lunatique, and several dining options all within steps of each other. It sits within easy reach of the Pearl and the St. Mary’s Strip, making it a natural anchor for a full night out. Indoor and outdoor spaces give guests room to move around, and the architecture — old bones, new energy — makes for a setting that actually fits a night of 80s music.

Plan Your Night

The Creamery District recommends arriving early to secure rooftop or patio seating before the evening crowd builds. Individual venues within the district keep their own hours, so the nightlife spots often open later than the daytime cafes. Plan to explore a little — Crème, Amelia, and Easy Baby are all part of the experience.
