If you’re in Greensboro the first weekend of March and want a night that pulls you straight back to synthesizers, arena rock, and shoulder pads, Kids In America is playing Grandover Resort & Spa on Saturday, March 7th. The show coincides with the Heritage Classic Championships, so the resort will already have that weekend energy—add a six-piece band covering the decade with live instruments and no backing tracks, and you’ve got a night built for singing along.
This isn’t a DJ set or a playlist with a light show. It’s a full band running through pop anthems, hair metal, new wave, hip hop, and dance, all played the way they sounded on the radio between 1980 and 1989.

About Kids In America
Kids In America is a six-piece 80s cover band built on years of live experience and a shared commitment to recreating the decade exactly as it sounded. Shannon Remley and Ray Hartsfield handle female and male lead vocals. Shannon’s powerhouse vocals and energy along with Ray’s charisma and showmanship make for the ultimate male-female lead vocal combo upfront. Roey Haviv plays bass guitar and bass synth, GK Via covers lead guitar and lead and background vocals, Rob Bowser on keyboards and synths, and Mike Graci handles drums and electronic percussion. This 6 piece very talented band plays everything live with no tracks, covering pop, hair metal, new wave, hip hop and dance with the kind of precision and accuracy that comes from over a thousand shows for just over a decade.
What You Will Hear
Expect the kind of night where you might hear “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Take On Me,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Like a Prayer,” “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” or “Jump.” The setlist pulls from the full spectrum of the decade—Cyndi Lauper and Whitney Houston next to Guns N’ Roses and Bon Jovi, with Run-DMC and Prince in the mix. If it defined the 80s, it’s in rotation.
