80s Cover Band in Roanoke, VA – February 6, 2026

The guitars were massive, the drums were gated, and the synthesizers were bright enough to light up a block. Q99 is bringing that entire decade to downtown Roanoke on Friday night, February 6, when Kids In America takes over Sidewinders Saloon at 7:30 PM. If you grew up with MTV on heavy rotation or you just know good hooks when you hear them, this is the kind of night that turns into a singalong before the second chorus.

Sidewinders sits on Campbell Avenue in the heart of downtown, and while it’s known for steaks and country music most nights, this Friday belongs to neon and New Wave. The room fills up fast when the crowd knows every word, so get there early and settle in for a night that covers everything from arena rock to dance-floor anthems.

About Kids In America

Kids In America is a six-piece 80s cover band built on years of live experience and a shared commitment to recreating the decade exactly as it sounded. Shannon Remley and Ray Hartsfield handle female and male lead vocals. Shannon’s powerhouse vocals and energy along with Ray’s charisma and showmanship make for the ultimate male-female lead vocal combo upfront. Roey Haviv plays bass guitar and bass synth, GK Via covers lead guitar and lead and background vocals, Rob Bowser on keyboards and synths, and Mike Graci handles drums and electronic percussion. This 6 piece very talented band plays everything live with no tracks, covering pop, hair metal, new wave, hip hop and dance with the kind of precision and accuracy that comes from over a thousand shows for just over a decade.

What You Will Hear

Expect the kind of night where you might hear “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Take On Me,” “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “I Love Rock ‘n Roll,” “Africa,” “Every Breath You Take,” and “Jessie’s Girl.” These are the songs that defined the decade—big choruses, unforgettable riffs, and melodies that stick around long after last call. The setlist pulls from rock radio, pop charts, and everything in between, so whether you’re here for the guitar solos or the synth hooks, you’ll find your moment.
