The Roaring Gap Club sits high in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where the air is cooler and the views stretch for miles. On September 5th, that private retreat becomes the setting for a night built entirely from 1980s pop, rock, synth hooks, and arena singalongs. Kids In America takes the stage at 9pm, bringing a setlist that pulls from every corner of the decade.
This is not a jukebox with a backing track. It’s six musicians playing everything live, switching between hair metal riffs, new wave synth lines, and dance floor anthems with the kind of precision that only comes from years of touring together.

About Kids In America
Kids In America is a six-piece 80s cover band built on years of live experience and a shared commitment to recreating the decade exactly as it sounded. Shannon Remley and Ray Hartsfield handle female and male lead vocals. Shannon’s powerhouse vocals and energy along with Ray’s charisma and showmanship make for the ultimate male-female lead vocal combo upfront. Roey Haviv plays bass guitar and bass synth, GK Via covers lead guitar and lead and background vocals, Rob Bowser on keyboards and synths, and Mike Graci handles drums and electronic percussion. This 6 piece very talented band plays everything live with no tracks, covering pop, hair metal, new wave, hip hop and dance with the kind of precision and accuracy that comes from over a thousand shows for just over a decade.\
What You Will Hear
Expect the kind of night where you might hear “Livin’ on a Prayer” followed by “Like a Virgin,” then “Sweet Child o’ Mine” into “Push It,” with “Don’t Stop Believin'” somewhere near the end when the whole room is singing. The setlist pulls from Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Madonna, Prince, and Guns N’ Roses, mixing power ballads with synth-pop and guitar-driven rock. If you grew up with MTV on in the background, this is your soundtrack.

Plan Your Night
Doors and showtime are set for 9pm. Since The Roaring Gap Club is a private venue, confirm access, ticketing, and any guest policies by contacting the club directly at (336) 363-2211 or club@roaringgapclub.com. Plan to arrive early if you’re coming from outside the area—mountain roads take longer than the map suggests, and you’ll want time to settle in before the first song hits.
