About Kids In America

Kids In America is a six-piece 80s cover band built on years of live experience and a shared commitment to recreating the decade exactly as it sounded. Shannon Remley and Ray Hartsfield handle female and male lead vocals. Shannon’s powerhouse vocals and energy along with Ray’s charisma and showmanship make for the ultimate male-female lead vocal combo upfront. Roey Haviv plays bass guitar and bass synth, GK Via covers lead guitar and lead and background vocals, Rob Bowser on keyboards and synths, and Mike Graci handles drums and electronic percussion. This 6 piece very talented band plays everything live with no tracks, covering pop, hair metal, new wave, hip hop and dance with the kind of precision and accuracy that comes from over a thousand shows for just over a decade.

What You Will Hear

Expect the kind of night where you might hear “Livin’ on a Prayer” into “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” or “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” followed by “Pour Some Sugar on Me.” The setlist pulls from arena rock, dance floor classics, and new wave staples, so you could get “Take On Me,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Jump,” or “Like a Prayer” depending on the vibe in the room. Whether it’s Bon Jovi, Madonna, or Michael Jackson, the band plays it live with the synth patches, guitar tones, and vocal harmonies that made these songs sound massive the first time around.

About the Venue

Tybee Post Theater was built in 1930 as a movie house for soldiers stationed at Fort Screven. The venue went dark in the mid-1960s and reopened for live performances in September 2015. Today it serves as a historic performance and movie venue on Tybee Island, offering an intimate setting with strong sightlines and a community atmosphere that fits both seated shows and dance-floor nights. The theater brings national and regional acts to a barrier island known more for beaches than concert stages, making it a unique spot to catch live music near the coast.

Plan Your Night

Tybee Island in mid-July means warm nights and easy beach-town parking within walking distance of the venue.
